Facebook launches campaign to generate support for Free Basics

Facebook introduces a new campaign on its site asking India users to save its ‘Free Basics’ platform by signing an email to TRAI. Some users on the social media site say that they didn’t know they were supporting Free Basics, which was previously called the Internet.org app, when they signed the email. Free Basics is now a part of the larger Internet.org operations, which includes other services to improve connectivity across the world. Reports also show that Facebook is trying to get users in US to send emails to TRAI.

Rumors and news surrounding the Moto X 2016

Some news regarding the much anticipated Moto X 2016 smartphone surfaced a while back by Chinese tech blog TechWeb. The fourth generation of the Moto X was set to release sometime next year.According to rumors, the new moto X will come equipped with a metal frame design. It also apparently has some sort of heat pipe cooling technology for heat dispersion.

Soon, pay bills through Twitter!

Twitter users in India may soon be able to pay their bills though the micro-blogging site, the media reported.

The company has announced a partnership with India-based start-up Lookup to enable users send a direct message to @lookuplite in order to book appointments, inquire about services and make transactions with businesses, Techcrunch reported.

Technical glitch delays Nasa’s Mars project by 2 years

Nasa's Mars programme has suffered a setback following the decision of the space agency to suspend the March 2016 launch of the Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations Geodesy and Heat Transport (InSight) mission as a result of unsuccessful attempts to repair a leak in a section of the prime instrument in the science payload.

Google's new login method

Google is testing out a new feature that could do away with passwords entirely, letting users sign in using their own smartphones.

The feature was revealed by Reddit user rp1226, aka Rohit Paul, who was invited by Google to test out password-less entry as part of an early-access program.

Hike Messenger Reinvents for Multi-Lingual India

Hike messenger, India’s first homegrown and fastest growing messaging platform, will pave the way to get India online with the launch of its app in eight vernacular languages viz. Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Bengali, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu, on 23rd December 2015.

Microsoft pulls Windows 10 Mobile release

In what can only be called a big snafu, Microsoft pulled a release shortly after release due to installation problems. Build 10586.20 caused problems for some Lumia 950 and 950 XL users so the company moved quickly to pull it.

This is particularly embarrassing as it is the first update for Microsoft's own handsets.

Indian software market to grow 12.8% in 2016



Country's software market is likely to witness a growth of 12.8% to reach $5.3 billion in 2016, research firm Gartner said.
"The enterprise software marketplace is dynamic and ever-changing. Its growth and structure are being shaped by factors and forces of decentralized purchasing, consumerization, mobility, influence of other emerging markets, cloud-based implementations, and new consumption models," Gartner research director Bhavish Sood said in a statement.
