As per the latest news appearing on the Times of India, its a good news for the upcoming IT entrepreneurs of Goa who will definitely take benefit of new initiative taken up by Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) under its young entrepreneurs forum. GCCI is in the process of leveraging resources of major industry organizations, including NASSCOM, to provide mentor ship support to Goan entrepreneurs. A questionnaire-based survey discovered that entrepreneurs find it difficult to nurture and implement their ideas. The sessions, which are part of a two-year road map, will be recorded and uploaded on a Youtube channel. Though the focus will be broadly aimed at information technology startups, entrepreneurs from all sectors are welcome since the digital market is the next way forward. While initially the sessions will be held on a monthly basis, six months down the line, GCCI and the forum foresee weekly meetings for specific groups. To make it a knowledge base there will be regular talks on technology and implementation of technology for businesses.
On the other side to make Goa an information technology hub, Chief Minister Shree Laxmikant Parsekar on Saturday 15th August, Independence day, said the government envisages to set up two IT parks in the state in the next three to five years. There are 2,000 professionals in IT sector who scout for jobs annually. Lack of job opportunities force them to cross the border, while many try for government jobs then.
