Government sets up system to pay water, power bills online

In an endeavour to facilitate e-payment of bills to its consumers in Goa, the electricity department, PWD and Goa Electronics Limited in association with department of information technology have enabled online payments of power bills through the state portal. 

Customers can now click on www.goa.gov.in to pay their bills. Through this facility, the electricity and water supply consumers will be able to pay electricity/water bills online through various e-Payment modes, such as credit card, debit card and internet banking of all banks, government officials said. 

The state is using State Bank of India, payment gateway to facilitate these online payments. 

"With this initiative, the consumers will be enabled to pay electricity/water bills at their convenient place and time, thereby relieving the consumers from standing in long queues and saving their valuable time," an official said.
